Shell interview
I received an e mail from Shell last wednesday calling for an interview for placement of internship in their company. I was so excited to be interviewed by them man. So i set the interview slot at 10:30am by phone on Friday. So on friday, as excited as before… i dressed up nicely, woke up early, went to the library and booked a discussion room, waited for them to call. I waited and waited… waited and waited… What the hell took them so long to call? So, instead of them calling me, I called the coordinator for interview. And i got to know that their online system had some error so they didnt get my confirmation of the time slot. So Ms. Suraya, the coordinator arranged another interview session for me on Monday 4:15pm.
I was a bit disappointed with it cos i have to wait another few days again. Then, I checked my e mail. I found out that my interview was scheduled at damansara heights which will be quite impossible for me to attend as i need to attend class on Monday. So again, I called… and e mailed. And I got confirmation from the coordinator that mine is a phone interview.
Monday lo… quite pack a day i can say. Have meeting at 12pm and have to do preparation before that. then class … then waited in the library for the interviewer to call. I waited and waited… waited and waited… I brought my handphone charger actually, but the damn library socket cannot fit the double pin. it’s the stupid design with the 2 metal plates at the side one. makes me damn fruss.. I tot i have enough battery to go through the phone interview. So i didnt bother. So i continue waited. Till one point i feel like calling back again. Luckily i didnt. They called me at about 4:30 which is 15 minutes late already.
So the interview began. I felt like talking to a computer. First of all, she talks real fast, very very clear despite the fact that we’re on the phone, and it’s very systematic. she started asking me what is my greatest achievement in my own opinion. At that moment, i was thinking of CEO-Match. And i still think it is. And from there on.. she lead me to a full load of questions regarding the competition, the team, the problems, and everything else a normal person wouldn’t think of asking. Anyway, I got a way with it.
Then, she asked me to talk on the topic "tourism"… What the hell is tourism? So i have to tell … what i think.. what’s the advantages and disadvantages of tourism… and suddenly, and I was expecting that of course… my phone ran out of battery. I tried to on it again and it work for another like 5 to 10 minutes and it went off again. WTF…. I quickly ran out of the discussion room. Saw Hun Pin and Chun Wah reading newspaper there. Fast fast ask them to pass me their phone and change the SIM card immediately. I was damn gan cheong d that time. luckily she called back and she remembers where I stopped. Anyway, i think that the interview really test you on how much you can crap and how much you know about the happenings of the world. I think i did ok ok la. not too bad. But not so good also. Hopefully i can get some favourable reply from them as soon as possible.
Another interview on Friday in Robert Borch PJ. Why don;t they juz save the hussle and juz offer me the job? hahaha…
