Mixed…

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

A lot of things in life are mixed… Rojak: Mixed fruits… Cam ping: mixed coffee and tea… Eurasian: mixed European and Asian descent… so many things. Some people said things that are mixed are of better quality. Take the Eurasian for example, they are more beautiful if not they have higher IQ. I once heard from people that the Japanese actually send their people overseas to mix with other races to produce better quality descendant. Anyway, that is juz what i heard… no specific proofs.

Feelings_1I’d like to talk about MIXED FEELINGS… I’m sure everyone of you had encounter this situation where you feel sad… yet you are full of hope… on the other hand you feel hap py… you feel free as if you got lose of something burdening you all the while… but you juz don feel like losing it.

Oldnakedfeelings_1I had this encounter last year when i broke  up. I suddenly felt a sense of freedom i’ve never feel before. I feel so free… but i was super sad because of the lost.. yet after some time.. i feel happy.. because there are people who care and it’s that moment… I can feel God working through me… I felt that i can trust no one except God… So many emotions… so many different type of feelings.

Some times in life… we will encounter this kind of situation. What i can say from my experience is… "Listen to that little voice in you" …. Follow that little voice that says… "chill la". I know there are a lot of mixed mixed feelings in there… OK, let’s put it this way, if u can feel happy and sad at the same time.. why choose sad instead of happy… if u feel lost and you feel hope… why give up ur hope and let ur failure overcome you?

Everything actually sum up to being able to make a choice at this moment. Don’t let the MIXED FEELINGS stop you from doing the things that you want to do. Make the right choice and never regret about it. Try to take nike’s advice and JUST DO IT.

FORGIVE… but never ever forget!!

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

Remember when your moral teacher taught about forgiving? They always say forgive and forget. But how can you possibly forgive someone who did so wrong to you and forget about what he did?

OK… What i think is… Forgive and forget do applies to some of the situations. U forgive and forget if ur fren accidentally stepped on ur feet. U forgive and forget when you frens forgotten about ur birthday. U forgive and forget when people do very small things that makes you angry for a while. Ok… the point is.. forgive and forget is for things that are so insignificant you dont even have time to remember it.

What about a gambler as a husband who keeps taking money from home? He stopped gambling, u forgive… then he start gambling again, until the ah long ah long bukit beruntung come, he stopped again… then you forgive and forget again. Can you do that? What about an addict? in N.A (Narcotic Anonymous) they always say, once an addict always an addict. U forgive and forget? they will stab you at the back again like what the hong kong series always show.

I think that this forgive and forget thing is really good if you practise it. but dont let this forgive and forget makes you forget about your rights. If some one treats you like shit again and again… but he finally do changed… Do forgives but never ever forget.

The art of Giving…

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

You guys ever heard of SHARING IS CARING? What about the famous Carlsberg slogan, "The best things in life are shared"? But what has sharing got to do with giving? I think that they are very closely related. A lot of people made it to be famous and successful juz by giving. Some of the examples are like Mother Teresa; she dedicated almost her whole life in serving the people in need. Her selflessness is a true inspiration to the modern generation like us. Anthony Robbins, dedicated in helping people to succeed… of course he do charge them for coaching them but he has done something most people didnt know unless if u’ve read the book "A note from a Friend".

I’ll not talk so much about Mother Teresa since most of you already know about her work. Just google Mother Teresa and i’m sure there are plenty of stories about her and her life. What i wanna share more is about something that Anthony Robbins did during the start of his carreer. He was a kid who like helping people since he was very young. And because he did helped a lot of people, it made him very famous in his area. But something real bad happened when he became too successful. His level of success is far higher than his peers in high school… What he did was he sabotage himself. Sometimes, when u became too successful, you tend to be offguard and u’ll fall real badly. That was what happened to Tony Robbins. He became fat, poor and only working as a janitor. One day, he decided not to continue like that with his way of life. He made a decision so clear that he wanted to be successful… and he made action. He started pursuing the knowledge on success… the psicology of success.. He did it. Details on how he did it er… better get his book (Awaken the Giant Within) cos it’s too long d la.

Ok… What happened when his life started to change? He is financially stable, happy, healthy, and considered as successful. That was the beginning of his carreer. OK… Whathas it gonna do with giving? Of course it does. He started to have extra cash that time. So what he did was, he called to churches, community centers, and other welfare department near his area. Asked if there are any homes that is so poor that they don even have money to celebrate thanksgiving. So he managed to get a few of them. On the eve of thanksgiving day, he dressed up like a delivery boy. Bought all the neccessary stuffs for thanksgiving like turkey, gas stove, cooking oil and the list goes on… then he deliver them to the addresses he got from the churches, commnity center and all that with a note on the gift saying a gift from a friend. In the book, he mentiod that even he acted as the delivery boy, when the family received the gift; they thanked him like crazy. So he felt really good about it. The next year, he asked a few of his friends to join him. as the years passed… the activity became bigger and bigger until today, it become Anthony Robbins foundation which actively supporting the third world countries to help the children and the people there.  From such a simple act of giving, it became a great organisation which is able to help millions of people around the world. Isn;t that wonderful.

I am not Anthony Robbins but i’m really inspired by what he has done. He started at his community. Reaching out and giving to the people in need.. Can you imagine what is it like having a delivery boy send u some groceries for Christmas celebration when your house is real damn broke at that time. The act is so simple. and yet so meaningful. U dont have to tell the family that this is from so and so.. bla bla bla.. juz send it and leave them a note saying "a gift from a friend". That’s all. U may changed the world juz by doing that. Probably you wont be able to achieve a foundation like anthony robbins. But u know wat? One of the reasons he did this was also because when he was young, his family was poor… some one did the same thing to his family. he remembered how it felt. Maybe when u helped some one that way… U are creating another anthony robbins that some day might changed the world juz because of your simple act. amazing?

Try it one day, get a cotact of a family that is very poor and cant do any celebration during their festival. Send them some of the things they need. write there "Gifts from a friend who cares." and see what happen after that. Of course when you give… dont expect anything back. because that is from a friend who cares. not from a friend who wants something back in returns. Give and forget about the rewards. The rewards might come in a way you cant imagine.

Holding Back!!!

Wednesday, September 6th, 2006

Hahaha… I know it’s super weird for me to write about holding back right now isn’t it? Don’t worry dudes… I’m not gonna talk about relationship this time. It’s gonna be about holding back some thoughts, some craps, some actions, some decisions… Recently, I’ve faced some of the situations where I need to hold back first before I make any action.

See, I think this has to do with the fact that i’m considerably patient, yet too bold sometimes i would say. About 2 weeks ago, my mum called me and told me something very unbelievable… something that is too good to be true. I don know whether you guys have came across this particular mutual fund company running on internet which named themselve as swisscash.biz. When my mum called, she said that her friend asked her to invest in a mutual fund that yield return on investment of 300% in 15 months. Can you believe that? Means if you invest $1000 today, in 15 months time you’ll be able to get back $3000. WOW… That was like about 20% per month. As far as i know, the greatest investor in the world (Warren Buffet) couldn’t do this as well. My mum was really attracted to the plan that her FRIENDS presented to her. it was so lucrative. other than the 300% you get, you get other incentives for refering ur other frens to invest, they even have this binary system where they simulate the multi level marketing business model. The so called the power of 2. I tot that this was fishy. I told my mum to HOLD ON… At the mean while, tell my bro Jason about it because he’s an accountant and he’s into fund managing. Definitely he’ll know about it.

So I started searching in the internet about swisscash business model. Talk to people about it and get the views on it. I personally thinks that this is super duper impossible to be happening. If it is not a scam, then this might be the savior that help eradicate poverty in the world. Anyway, I got a few very good feed back from Chiang Wey and Rtn Arthur. In fact, Chiang Wey who is studying economics in Aus send me an e mail subjected swisscash analysis. sounds damn pro right? of course he is. In another way, his points will be able to convince people not to invest in swisscash. Whereas Rtn Arthur asked me back a question, "Does it sound too good to be true?" er… OF COURSE… So? when it sounds too good to be true, then it is. As simple as that.

Therefore, after all the researching about the company, i finally called my mum and told her not to invest in it. She sounded a bit dissappointed but she do agree with me and even my brother adviced not to invest. But isn’t that a good opportunity to make big money? an opportunity to free urself financially? Oh, Come on… Like wat rtn Arthur said, Where got so big kap la hopping around everywhere.

Luckily, we managed to convince my mum not to invest any money in it. on the 5th September, KOSMO paper published the news… as SWISSCASH FRAUD. roughly 200 Malaysians and more to come complained that they got conned of all the money they invested. These people include some of the very highly rank people in the country, those highly educated people…

Think about it, If at that moment… when my mum’s friend introduced her the investment plan. and she did not hold back… What are the consequences gonna be? She might be one of the person complaining to KOSMO… It is true that when opportunity comes you have to seize it… but do remember to analyse it wisely and ask for people’s point of view. Anyway, new business models are created every now and then… whether you wanna accept it or not? or hold back to your conventional thinking of running a business or investment? Take time to know more about it. dont make impulsive decisions.

Moral of the story… When something sounds too good to be true, Then IT IS…

letting go!!!

Sunday, September 3rd, 2006

For a person to let go someone who is so important to them, it is so hard. I’ll talk about what i learned exactly one year ago about letting go. I was into a relationship dillema one year ago. It was tough. I was in the relationship for about 4 years. Letting go was so hard for me because i treasured this relationship so much. about 2 weeks before 3/9/2005, I found out something that i can’t accept that time. She wanted a breakup. I was shocked… I didnt know how to manage it. and I keep thinking that that was an impulsive decision of hers. So i told her that i’ll give her time to think over it… I said:"Tell me your decision after 2 months." I felt so stupid. That 2 weeks was the worst days of my life. I called her and she didnt pick up, I messaged and it was ignored. Until 3/9/2005, I couldn;t take it anymore. I feel that i need to take the first step. I need to let it go. I need to learn how to let go. So i called her.. of course this time she picked up. I told her I cannot take this anymore, I’m ready. I know you have also made your decision. Just tell me your decision right now. So she said it… and it was over for both of us.

That was the first day  learned how to let go. Letting go was really hard. for the next 2 weeks, I couldn’t concentrate on anything. whenever i see something, it rekindle the sweet memories of us together. i tried to suppress it, but somehow tears will start flowing from my eyes. I always think that i can overcome anything easily. I think that i can solve problems easily. But i was wrong… it was really miserable. I was fortunate because i have really good frens and family to uphold me during that time.

It’s been a year now. Many things has happened. I still love her as a fren. And during the process i did try to get her back. But effort was in vain. Anyway, What i feel about this experience is that i’ve learned the best lesson in my life. Facing the greatest rejection. I mean everyone is afraid of getting rejected since the first day you were born. if a baby feel rejected, they may die because of that. Isn’t that amazing? so i guess… the greatest fear of mankind is rejection. And throughout this whole year, i was learning and have already faced the greatest rejection… from the one i loved…so much… I think that after this lesson, I can in fact face a lot more problems in my life. It’s like that analogy of the carrot, egg, and coffee with the hot water. the hot water is our problems. carrot went in hard and tough but came out became soft and demotivated, the egg went in soft and gentle, but came out hard and unfeeling inside. But for coffee, it is different. the hot water couldn;t change the coffee powder, in fact.. the water was changed by the coffee powder. The hotter the water, The nicer and better the coffee become. so Why be carrot and Egg… Be like that coffee bean. That’s what i’ve learned to become after the experience.

3rd September… The day that make me grow… The day that i faced my greatest rejection… the day that i learn how to overcome the greatest fear of mankind.

41 hours (part 2)

Friday, September 1st, 2006

OK … After Josephine send me to Pudu, i went and bought my ticket to Lumut. I tried to find and find… all over the Pudu station, but all the buses are full. I was wondering why the hell so many people wanna travel back to Lumut that day. Then, only i realised that the following week will be the one week school holidays. At the end, i got a ticket to Ipoh and asked Choi to fetch me from Ipoh lo… What to do. Have to trouble my room mate again lo. My bus was suppose to be 11:30. It was only 10:45 that time. So i found some where to seat and chill out first. i chatted with the person seating beside me. He was a sales engineer working in an american company in Penang. Too bad i forgotten his name. Then i went down to the platform at about 11:15. The bus has not arrived yet. Then i was chatting with a guy going to be in the same bus as me. He just came back from Muar from a drivers’ training. It’s actually a police drivers’ training and he told me the training was quite tough. sometimes they even crash the cars.

The bus finally came at 12:30, it was a orange colour BAS SEKOLAH. WTF??? I was a little bit pissed at the time i saw the bus. but when i board the bus i found out that the condition of the bus is better than some of the express buses. That was really a long journey, the bus actually started the journey at about 1am. cos they were waiting for other passengers to fill the bus. DAMN… I got to go for treasure hunting early in the morning the next day. Anyway, i reached Ipoh at about 3:45am. Appreciation_night_miss_astro_148 and Choi started his journey from UTP come Ipoh to fetch me at 3:45.

Medan Gopeng at 4am…

Waited there for about an hour. when we reached tronoh, we straight away went to the market to have breakfast. Reached UTP at 6am. We were supposed to be at the treasure hunt checkpoint at 6am and we hadn;t even stick our stickers on the car. so we did it, waited for me to bath and we’re off to the checkpoint.

When we reached the checkpoint, there were i think about 60 cars in front of us already. everyone was so excited there. Everyone tot that they would win. Everyone said wanna work together to get the prizes. But u know what, everyone is selfish… Ya, they wanna win, but they dont work together. anyway, this is not the point. everyone did enjoy the trip very much. To me, i was really amazed when i saw the palace in kuala Kangsar. It was magnificent. By the time we finished treasure hunting, it was about 11 something pm. we were the first team to arrive at the final checkpoint. If you guys wanna know more about the treasure hunt can check it out at Aswad’s blog.

After the treasure hunt, we went around Taiping food hunting. Cos we were so exhausted and tired especially myself la… Then, we went to the waterfall in Taiping. It was since 3 years ago i haven;t been to a waterfall. You know the feelings when you jump into the water after such a long tiring days? It’s Super Duper gau gau extremely refreshing. the water was so chill you can typically chill in the water to get the most out of it. muaahahahaha … What the hell am i writing? When we were about to go back to the car, it started raining like cats and dogs. For goodness sake, we juz changed our clothes to clean ones. we were all WET. muahahaha … anyway, we did manage to get into the car after sometime under the small almost falling hut. and you know what makes us super pissed. The rain stopped immediately after we get into the cars. RRRrrrrrr…. Geramnyer…   Img_0187 Img_0192 Img_0186Img_0183

These are some of the pics we took during the treasure hunt. Yeo’s group got 8th prize and our group won a lucky draw.

I tot after the waterfall we would be back to UTP. I slept throughout the journey back. And i was shock when i wake up, I was in Ipoh Jusco. Oh, what the heck… Whole body so damp and hair super messy. ala… don care la. So we went to jusco. had our KFC dinner. Then only back to UTP. The prize giving ceremony was at 9pm. We went there and got some prizes lo. After that wat else, celebrate lo.

And there goes my 41 HOURS journey…. finally… ZZZzzZzZzZzzzz
