Formula SAE Australasia 2006

December 10th, 2006 by sojauh

Formula SAE is a student design competition whereby students are required to conceive, design, simulate, and fabricate their own car. It is a competition organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers. This competition is being held annually all over the world according to the region. There are Formula SAE competitions in

UK

,

USA

,

Germany

,

Brazil

,

Japan

, and

Australia

.

Formula SAE competition consists of several events in which the car is being scrutinized by the judges statically and dynamically. These events include noise test, tilt test, skid pad event, acceleration, autocross and endurance. The competition focuses mainly on the engineering aspects of the car rather than merely racing. Nonetheless, the car still has to be fast in order to compete with the rest of the teams.

After about 2 years of the starting of the Team UTP Formula SAE. The team now is now finally able to compete in the upcoming event in

Australia

namely Formula SAE

Australasia

. 13 Students from the team are being selected by the lecturer advisor, Mr. Mohd Syaifuddin and Mr. Mohd Arief to compete in the event. They are being lead by the team technical leader Mr. Mohd Faizan Ahmad Zuhdi. The rest of the members are: Ng Choon Hoong, Mohd Faiz Zainal Abidin, Mohamed Faiz Mohamed Amin, Khairul Anwar, Sharifah Mazliana, Azril Zakaria, Iylia Rashidi, Joshua Ng, Safwan Hanis, Fakhrul Radzi, Bahrin, and Muinnudin.

The Formula SAE Australasia 2006 will kick off on the 14th December 2006 till the 17th December 2006. Formula SAE Australasia is being considered as one of the toughest Formula SAE event around the world as the Australian teams are of the top performers in Formula SAE event in the

US

and around the world.

Being the first team in

Malaysia

to participate in this competition itself creates great pressure for the team as the university and the country is putting high hopes on the team. Nevertheless, the team is ready for the challenges that they are going to face during the competition. Despite all the negative feedbacks from some of the people around, I believe that Team UTP Formula SAE 2006 will complete the competition and back to the country with pride.

How to become skilled at flirting

November 9th, 2006 by sojauh

The topic of flirting has been the subject of a
number of scientific studies. In fact research has shown that flirting is done
in every culture around the world, regardless of race or language. It is first
important to realize that flirting is a basic form of behavior. By flirting,
humans show that they are interested in specific partners, and if they did not
do this, there would not be a way for humans to reproduce. Consequently, the
human species would soon cease to exist. To flirt properly, it is first
important to know the best places to flirt.

In our society of today, flirting at the wrong time or place can be
inappropriate. It is important to know when flirting is a good idea. Perhaps
one of the best places for flirting is parties. In addition to parties, any
type of social event of celebration is generally acceptable when it comes to
flirting. More often than not, flirting is not only acceptable at these events,
but it will often be expected. These events are excellent places to find
potential dates. While many people realize this, few understand why. The reason
why parties are great places to flirt is because of a process called
"cultural remission."

Cultural remission can be defined as an environment where rules and
restrictions that would normally be placed on members of society are relaxed
for a certain period of time. However, this does not mean there are no rules.
Unfortunately, many people find this out the hard way at celebration at Mardi
Gras, where getting too wild can get you arrested and thrown in jail. However,
flirting in ways that would normally be restricted in everyday life would be
allowed at parties or other celebrations. It should not be surprising to note
that alcohol and flirting are intimately connected.

The reason for this is because alcohol is the substance of choice at places
where flirting is commonly allowed. Some of these places are parties, pubs,
clubs, bars, and even restaurants. A number of studies have shown that not only
is alcohol connected to flirting, but it actually makes you more effective at
flirting when you are using it. However, you must not go overboard when you are
using alcohol, or you could end up in serious trouble. Another great place for
flirting are colleges and universities.

Desire…

October 29th, 2006 by sojauh

I’m sure every one has desires. Desire to achive something in life… desire to be with somebody, desire to do something seems impossible and many many more. Some people desire to make lots of money in their carreer, whereas some people desire to follow their heart and go into the industry that interest them.
I think that doesn;t matter what your desire is. no matter how lame is the reason of your desire, you can achive it if you can make your reason strong enough. This sounds very contradicting because how can a lame reason be strong enough to make you achive your desire?
ok… let’s take a look at a very simple example of some one with a simple desire but made his reason strong enough by doing something about it.
"There was a 10-year-old fatherless child asking his mother about a man in a fancy carriage. The mother told him that that person was actually a congressman. The little boy told the mother that he would like to be a congressman when he grows up. That’s to us is very ambitious. But if we examine, what made him think of becoming a congressman? it’s the fact that he saw some congressman riding in a fancy carriage? He can simply owns one without having to be the congressman. he don even knows at that time what a congressman does. But this little kid, he is so serious about being a congressman that he wrote down in a piece of paper "I’m going to be a congressman" and pasted it on the mirror. By a week time, the boy found some part time job earning some cash to buy books to learn how to be a congressman. at the age of 10? ya… at the age of 10. He continues his pursue to being a congressman later on in his life. trying his best to earn extra money to fund his own studies.
By 26, he became a state senator and by 33 a congressman. The note on his mirror remains until the day he was elected to the congress. what happened after that? He, James A. Garfield became the President of the U.S.A. His simple desire didnt really made him a congressman or the president. But simply the fact that he took the effort to write down what he wants in life. He was serious about being a congressman. He wrote it down so that it reminds him of the ambition every single day. That little desire grew into burning desire and then into passion followed by plans and actions. It became a part of him."
So what kind of desire we have in our life? Try to be so serious about it. Write it down on paper. And you’ll see maybe after 23 years? 30 year? you’ll know what this small little stinky piece of paper has made to change your life.

Desire
is the key to motivation, but it’s determination and commitment to an
unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that
will enable you to attain the success you seek.
